Welcome! I’m Andrea!
Growing up, I went to Disneyland a few times and visited Walt Disney World during one big trip back when there were only three parks. Several years later, I found myself planning my first trip as an adult and as a parent. I thought it was a great time to go to maximize the magic for my kids but that was about it – I knew the kids would have fun and I thought of it as a trip for them. I wasn’t super excited and I thought maybe we’d go again in another five years.
Fast-forward to the first morning of our trip, walking into Disneyland’s main gates and onto Main Street USA. It was instant – I was hooked. It felt nostalgic and new all at the same time and everything looked beautiful, felt fun and every face was smiling. I saw characters run out to greet guests and heard the announcement to “please walk to your destination” and I honestly got a little teary-eyed. By the end of the first day, I knew I would be back in a year (at the most).
Planning for our second trip was so much fun, that I went way beyond just selecting a hotel and noting a few attractions I didn’t want to miss. I started listening to Disneyland podcasts and started deep diving into restaurant menus, park history and time-saving strategies. Pretty soon, I started helping friends plan their trips. I’ve since been back to Disneyland (of course), Disneyland Paris and Aulani the Disney resort in Hawaii! My current Disney wish list includes: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea, Walt Disney World and a Disney Cruise.
Thanks for joining me here when I share my love of the parks, tips and tricks to make your next trip the best visit ever and copycat recipes so you can enjoy the magic at home!
love,
Andrea

Let’s talk more about these favorites (and I want to know yours!)! You probably guessed that I love the macarons at Disneyland. I’ve even been to France and I prefer the oversized, soft yet crunchy macarons at Disneyland. I skip right over the popular Raspberry-Rose Mickey-shaped Macaron and order the seasonal macaron. And every single visit, the seasonal macaron ends up being my favorite sweet of the trip! Perhaps my favorite of all time is the Cherry Vanilla I also love the Baymax Macaron at Disney California Adventure! Do not bother with any ‘regular’ sized macarons at the parks – they are sometimes cute but never very tasty.
Big Thunder Mountain is my easy favorite for overall attraction at any park but I also love the Mad Tea Party (tea cups) and at Disney California Adventure, my favorites are Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree and the Animation Academy. If I did these four and ate a macaron, I’d call any trip a success!
As far as seasons go, I love them all at Disneyland but I have to give it to Halloween Time! I’ve never been a big Halloween person and even the phrase “Halloween Time” sounded so dumb to me…before I went to Disneyland at Halloween Time! 😉 I could still completely skip the holiday at home but I don’t think I can ever miss the Halloween season at the Disneyland Resort. I am not ashamed to admit I love everything pumpkin spice and I think they do such a great job with the sweet and savory seasonal menus this time of year! Plus, it’s just so cute and not scary at all which I appreciate so much as an admitted fraidy cat!
My favorite character of all time is Flunkey from The Jungle Book. And I have to give honorable mentions to Rafiki, Olaf and my favorite princess Belle.
